    Ok people are saying this hurts as if they do it fast, NO SHERLOCK, The point of the roll technique is for you to absorb pain from a big jump its supposed to hurt but less than it would to land on your feet

    it decreases the force of the falling impact distributing the force directly into the ground as your body rolls, so the point of impact is never in the same spot putting far less pressure on your body.

    I’ve heard on another video that you are supposed to transfer your weight directly from your shoulder to your opposite hip as not to roll on your spine. I’ve tried doing that, but it doesn’t seem very possible to arch my back and tuck in for a roll at the same time. What do you think?

    If you’re hurting …
    If you’re hurting yourself when you do it, you are probably doing it wrong. The best thing to keep in mind is not to be afraid of the roll, since most improperly done rolls are a result of being hesitant. It also helps to have some forward momentum.
